A business and real estate lawyer, Matt has lived in unincorporated Palatine Township since 1987. Matt was President Obama’s organizer for the northwest suburbs and a founder of Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action/Indivisible.

About Matt

MATT FLAMM has lived in Palatine Township since 1987. A business and real estate lawyer, Matt has represented many not-for-profit organizations including schools, charities, churches, and mosques. He has also helped many homeowners save their homes from being lost to tax sales.

Matt was President Obama’s principal organizer for the northwest suburbs. He helped organize in favor of the Affordable Care Act. He was the original Chapter Lead of Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action, an affiliate of President Obama’s nationwide progressive organization. He is a longtime board member of NWSOFA/Indivisible and is active with Indivisible Illinois, an affiliate of the nationwide Indivisible movement.

In 2014, Matt was elected Palatine Township Democratic Committeeperson. He was reelected in 2018 and served until he resigned to run for Judge in 2020. During his tenure, Palatine Township elected two Democratic members of Congress for the first time in history. Matt continues to be a board member of the Greater Palatine Area Democrats. Matt was honored as 2020 Outstanding Democratic Organizer by the Sixth Congressional District Democrats.

Matt and his wife Betty raised two adult daughters who graduated from Palatine High School and have two grandsons.

Matt looks forward to being part of the Democratic team that will bring better service to all the residents of Palatine Township without a tax hike for taxpayers.
